Congratulations Omar Ramirez!

Congratulations to Omar Ramirez on becoming a U.S. Citizen this week!  Omar works in our Northern Regional Office in on-line ordering.  He worked very hard for this accomplishment and we are so proud of him!

Farewell Adam and Jenna Richardson

Adam (NFW) and Jenna (OVT) Richardson are leaving the Great Northern Region this week and heading South. Adam and Jenna have both been great workers and great leaders for the Roark district. They are both pictured below with their children Christopher and Avery. Adam will be taking up a new position in the Great Southern Region. We would all like to wish Adam and Jenna farewell and good luck in their new home. We will all miss you!

Gibson District BAM Meeting

Earlier in April the now Michael Gibson District had they're quarterly BAM meeting. Michael Gibson gave a presentation on Servant Leadership. The 2A's and 3A's took on the GM's, Michael Johnson and Trainer Michele Martinez in a softball game. The GM's ran away with the game with their MVP being GM Ken Heston (DTD) who went 5 for 5 and turned 3 double plays from the short stop position.

Another Great Servant Leadership Story!

Take a look at this great story written by DM Nicholas Roark about a great
Servant Leader Chris Northrup!


As you all know we had a very large order weekend before last going to
Passion 2011. Murphy showed up at the BOW location Friday night and
caused havoc. The reefer went down and would not cool the product.
John called me at 11 p.m. and I proceeded to give him Mr.Northrup's
number. John first tried to contact Penske, but they were not
available for help as it was a dispatch number. Chris got the number
for the wrecker service that was on call for Penske and got the ball
rolling. NOT ONLY did he get the ball rolling, HE SHOWED UP AT THE
DELI AROUND 11:30!!!!!!! This man climbed up on the truck,assessed the
damage, filled it with freon, and tried to get us going. He then
contacted the service after he determined that there was a crack in
the condenser, and lit a fire under them to remedy the situation.
Chris then took Randy,a driver , over to the Grand Prairie location to
wait for the new Penske truck to be delivered. And to top it all off,
he personally called me the next day to make sure everything went
well. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!

It's not Chris's job to make sure that we get the operations end of
things in order, but he makes it his business. And this is not the
first time he has done whatever it takes.

Thank you Chris for your Servant Leadership...you are a great value to
our company.

If you haven't already, be sure to wish DM Nick Roark a happy __th birthday. I'll let you take a guess or ask him how old he is now. I'm going to go with 30. NFW was nice enough to get a cake made just for Nick pictured below.

Last week ARL GM Jack Powell wanted to say hello to SAR's Tyra Clawson and Catherine Youngblood in his own way. The Sarah Claiborne Story

Read the story of this former ALN employee told by Michele Martinez.

The pic is of Sarah Claiborne a former employee of our who joined the Navy in November.  The first chance she got to come home was this weekend and she stopped by to say hello and have lunch.

 

Sarah came to us a very shy and not the most outgoing girl at the beginning of her senior year at Allen high school.  Mike even pointed out to me how scared she looked when on orders.  Over time the deli culture worked its magic and she came out of her shell. She really came out of her shell, couldn't get her to shut up.  Once she graduated she started the application process to join the Navy and started training for her physical exam.  She followed her grandfather's footsteps by joining the Navy and wants to eventually go into psyops for the Navy.  She is currently ranked as Master-at-Arms which is the Navy's police, security, and counter-terrorism ranks that protect ships, bases, and other naval installations.
